At a glance: Gild Atelier is a women’s jewelry line that makes ethereal delicate pieces including a stunning collection of body jewelry.
Who’s behind the brand? Dutch artist Sophie Teppema designs and handcrafts all the jewelry.
What do they do? The line includes delicate little stacking rings, perfect everyday edgy yet sweet stud earrings, and the most amazing chain body jewelry, which really, is much more elegant than it sounds. They do customized jewelry as well, and will conference with you via skype to get things just right.
Where are they based? The Gild Atelier workshop and store are located right in the heart of Amsterdam in Dam Square.
What materials do they use? 14K and 18K gold, and 925 and 999 sterling and fine silver. The black metal they use? That’s oxidized silver, the patina will fade over time but you can always have it reoxidized if you don’t like the effect. They also use pearls and precious stones.
Editors’ favorites from the line? The standout pieces are from the body jewelry section of the shop - our favorite is the Bolero but they’re all so beautiful. Also be sure to check out the simple stud earrings (we love the unexpected 3-circle Etc. studs) as well as the stacking rings.
Where can I get the goods? If you’re in Amsterdam, check it all out in the shop attached to the Nieuwe Kerk museum in Dam Square. For the rest of us, the online store is so complete you hardly have to feel like you’re missing out.
